Early Years: supporting effective transition from Reception to Year 1
To support a whole school dialogue and consistency in message as to how best practice in EY feeds into the whole school Teaching for Mastery provision. We will start with best practice in Early Years and ensure these principles guide the messages and make connections to the TfM model as and when appropriate.
Promotion of a positive attitude towards mathematics, so that all children are seeking out mathematics in their environment, demonstrating a willingness to ‘have a go’ and effective communication of these ideas.
It is expected that schools taking part will already have completed the Teaching for Mastery programme.
